Description:
Alpenhorn Farm, formerly Galactic Organics, offers fresh, biodynamically grown vegetables each week at the Saturday Bellingham Farmers Market. Alpenhorn is a mixed farm raising vegetables, honeybees, free-range chickens and ducks, sheep, and a small herd of dairy goats.
The farm offers Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) weekly fresh produce boxes with assorted seasonal vegetables. The CSA programs runs for 20 weeks, from June to October, with pick-ups available at the Bellingham Farmers Market. CSA shares cost $400.
Galactic Organics also offers classes in biodynamic gardening and composting. Call for details.
Certifications:
Alpenhorn practices biodynamic agriculture, which means it treats the farm as a complete living organism. The farm does not use artificial fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides.
