Description:
Joe’s Gardens, Bellingham’s in-town farm, has been growing vegetables, herbs, fruit and flowers from their current location on Taylor Avenue since 1933. Established in the 1920s, Joe’s was one of several early farms in the area that trucked produce to local markets and stores. Today, Joe’s remains one of the original truck farms in the Northwest.

Joe’s Gardens grows its crops pesticide free. The on-site farm store carries a wide array of produce and nursery stock that varies throughout the season. In early spring, the farm offers vegetable starts, bedding plants, potting soil and compost. Summer starts with fresh lettuce, radishes, salad greens and more, and by mid summer the store is filled with fruits and vegetables.

In addition, the Joe’s Gardens Store carries local specialty foods, such as baked goods from Avenue Breads, honey, jams, syrups, oils, and summer fruits from farms in the Northwest.
