Description:
Look for Sumas River Farm’s fresh, organic vegetables each Saturday at the Bellingham Farmers Market and on Wednesdays at the Fairhaven Farmers Market. The farm’s produce includes such specialties as yellow raspberries, grapes, apples, edible flowers, fennel, sugar peas, tomatoes and eggplant.
Alongside its wide range of traditional vegetables, Sumas River offers such unusual greens as nettles, “the most nutritious plant you will ever eat,” with recipes, such as “Nettle Pesto,” for how to prepare them.
Sumas River Farm offers a 26 week CSA, from May to October. CSA weekly produce boxes are available in single-person, two-person and four-person sizes.
